Southwest Reveals New ‘Wanna Get Away Plus’ Fare
Southwest Airlines unveiled today a new fare class which has been rumored for months. It ranks as the second-cheapest option, targeting customers who are willing to pay for more flexibility. The new fare is called “Wanna Get Away Plus” and it’s the next step up from “Wanna Get Away” fare
It allows travelers to make same-day changes to their tickets without paying the difference in fare that the lowest tier requires. Customers who opt for the new fare, or classes above the new fare will also earn more frequent flyer miles. They can also transfer flight credits to another RapidRewards member, which is a new feature. All Southwest passengers will continue to get to check two bags for free.

Southwest’s new fare goes on sale in the second quarter.
