Amazon will pay the NFL $1 billion per year through the 2033 season. The partnership marks the league’s first all-digital rights agreement.
15 games are part of the package for this season, with the first Thursday game of the season being excluded. Los Angeles Chargers vs. Kansas City Chiefs was the debut of “Thursday Night Football” on Amazon. Amazon will be the exclusive home of “Thursday Night Football” from 2022 through 2033. Games will be televised free in the local markets of the teams that are playing. Out-of-market viewers will be able to watch “Thursday Night Football” with an Amazon Prime or Prime Video subscription. You can sign up now and get a 30-day free trial, which means that you can watch 4 or 5 Thursday night games for free. Amazon Prime costs $14.99 a month or $139 a year.
