Delta and United Will Increase Prices for CLEAR Membership
CLEAR increased its annual membership price from $179 to $189 last year. And now the discounted member pricing from United and Delta is also going up.
As a reminder, you can get CLEAR for free with three American Express credit cards. That include the the Platinum Card® from American Express, the Business Platinum Card® from American Express, and the American Express® Green Card. All three cards offer up to $189 per calendar year in statement credits, when you pay for a CLEAR membership.
Delta Air Lines and United Airlines plan to increase the price of CLEAR membership, possibly starting next month. The information was sent out to some cardholders, showing new pricing for renewals. Here’s what the new prices looks like:

Guru’s Wrap-up
If you have an American Express card that gives you free CLEAR membership, then this price increase probably doesn’t affect you much. But if you were using these discounts to also get a free membership for your partner for example, then you will no longer be able to do so starting soon.
You can currently get a CLEAR membership for $119 just for being a Delta SkyMiles or United MileagePlus and then also add a family member or friend to your account for just $60. Both would be covered by the Amex credit.
