Invest, the classroom-to-career education program managed by Big “I,” has announced the appointment of three stalwarts to its board of directors: Kathy Conley-Jones, Rob Townley, and Daniel Holst.
These newly appointed members will work collaboratively with a host of industry groups and carriers on the Invest board, including but not limited to American Property Casualty Insurance Association, Applied Systems, Chubb Insurance, CNA; Chromium, Dryden Mutual, Foremost (a Farmers Insurance Company), Frederick Mutual, Hanover Insurance, HSB, The Hartford, the Big “I,” The Institutes, Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance, National General, Private Client Select, Progressive, Selective, State Auto, Travelers Insurance, Westfield, and Vertafore.

Conley-Jones is a seasoned insurance and finance strategist with three decades of agency ownership experience. She currently presides over Kathy Conley-Jones Consults and serves as the chief insurance strategist for Williamson Financial Group in Florissant, Mo.
She is also the immediate past president of the St. Louis chapter of the National Association of Benefit and Insurance Professionals (NABIP) and is also a past president of the St. Louis chapter of the National African American Insurance Association (NAAIA).
Townley is the president of Townley Kenton, an independent insurance agency located in Atlanta. He brings a wealth of experience to the board, with Townley commencing his involvement with Invest early in his career. He has been teaching Invest courses since 2007.
His contributions extend to serving on several company advisory panels and nonprofit boards, including the corporate leadership council of Fernbank Museum of Natural History and the past presidency of the Metro Alliance of Independent Insurance Agents.
Holst currently serves as the executive vice president of the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of Washington (IIABW), a post he has held since 1998. He also presently holds the role of IIABW’s Invest program liaison.
With extensive experience on the Big “I” AAS Board of Directors and State Partnerships Taskforce, Holst has served as president of the Washington Society of Association Executives and the Independent Agents Association Executives.
“We are excited to have these three dedicated industry leaders bring their passion and talent to the Invest board,” Invest and Big “I” diversity executive director Whitnee Dillard said. “Invest promotes the myriad of opportunities within insurance to the next generation of workers, and the first-hand experiences of Kathy, Rob and Daniel will help us continue to improve the effectiveness and reach of our programs.”
Recently, the broker association revealed the latest insights that emerged from the 2023 update of the Best Practices Study conducted by the Big “I” and Reagan Consulting.
