Southwest Wi-Fi Will Soon Cost $8 per Flight
Southwest Airlines will soon make an unpleasant change to the pricing model of its onboard internet. The airline will be raising Wi-Fi fees for passengers with connecting flights.
Beginning February 21st, Southwest customers will pay $8 per flight, as opposed to Southwest’s $8 per day pass. That means passengers with connecting flights, layovers or making a round trip in a single day will end up paying at least double the price if they want internet throughout their itinerary.
The news was first revealed in an internal memo that was shared on Twitter:
All other entertainment in Southwest’s inflight portal remains free of charge, including live TV, movies and messaging. So you can probably get by without paying that $8 fee.
