American Airlines has launched a new promotion today, offering millions of AAdvantage members a launch pad to get a head start on status and rewards in 2025.

With the start of a new AAdvantage program year March 1, for a limited time, AAdvantage members may earn 500 additional Loyalty Points for each flight taken in March 2025. Each members can earn up to 5,000 Loyalty Points total.

Here’s how to make the most of the offer:

1. Register for the promotion in your AAdvantage account (Promotion in Rewards Hub)
2. Book an American Airlines flight
3. Complete your travel by March 31, 2025
4. Earn 500 additional Loyalty Points for each flight — up to 5,000 total

Earnings add up if you have a connection, as members earn 500 Loyalty Points for every flight on their trip. Flights booked in Basic Economy won’t count toward this promotion.

Important Terms

• Eligible flights will receive an additional 500 Loyalty Points per segment flown in connection with this promotion, up to a total maximum of 5,000 additional Loyalty Points.
• Register by March 31, 2025, for your flights to count toward this promotion.
• Offer applies to eligible purchased, published fares with a departure date between March 1, 2025 and March 31, 2025.
• You must register for this promotion before creating a flight reservation or placing a flight on hold for that reservation to count. Flight reservations created and ticketed before registration are not eligible for this promotion.
• Flights booked in Basic Economy won’t count toward this promotion.
• Loyalty Points will be awarded within 14 days after the eligible flight segment is posted to your AAdvantage® account.
• Offer only applies to eligible flights marketed and operated by American Airlines or American Eagle flights. Flights marketed and/or operated by codeshare partners are not eligible for this promotion.
• Flights that don’t earn AAdvantage® miles won’t count toward this promotion.
• Members are responsible for ensuring that the Loyalty Points earned are properly credited.
• All promotions and offers are intended for the parent/guardian who is 18+ years of age.
• Promotional offer is non-transferrable and is only valid for the registered member.

For the lowest elite tier, AAdvantage Gold, you need 40,000 Loyalty Points. So this bonus alone will not really get you close to any real benefits.

But if you plan on earning any AAdvantage elite tiers this year, then you’re getting the extra Loyalty Points with no extra effort.
